Xiaomi 13 series confirmed to debut next month in China
The lineup will include two devices — the Xiaomi 13 and the Xiaomi 13 Pro. The company has shared a post on Weibo to reveal the upcoming smartphone series. Apart from this, Xiaomi has also confirmed that its proprietary Android skin MIUI 14 based on Android 13 will also be released at the same event. The company might also launch the Watch S2 and the Buds 4 TWS earbuds along with the Xiaomi 13 series phones.
Xiaomi 13 series: Price and availability
Xiaomi has not shared any pricing details for the upcoming smartphone. The company has also not confirmed when these handsets will be made available in China or other global markets, including India. Xiaomi 13 has also reportedly the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and are expected to arrive in India soon after its China launch.
For reference, the Xiaomi 12 Pro is currently listed on the company’s official website at Rs 58,999. The Xiaomi 13 series smartphones are expected to be available in multiple colour options.
Xiaomi 13 series: Confirmed design, specs and features
The company has confirmed only two aspects of the upcoming Xiaomi 13 smartphone series. The poster shared on Weibo offered a glimpse at the upcoming lineup. As per the poster, the upcoming handsets appear to have slim bezels. Both smartphones are also expected to have the same design.
Earlier, Xiaomi assured that both phones in the series will be powered by Qualcomm’s newly launched flagship mobile platform, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Moreover, the upcoming smartphones will also run Android 13 out-of-the-box as Xiaomi will also launch the MIUI 14 skin at the smartphone launch event.
Xiaomi 13 series: Expected specs
According to GizmoChina, Xiaomi 13 is expected to sport a 6.26-inch display with 2K resolution while the Pro variant may boast a 6.7-inch E6 screen that may support LTPO technology. Both devices will likely pack up to 12GB RAM.
Xiaomi 13 Pro is speculated to house a 50MP Sony IMX989 1-inch primary camera, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 50MP telephoto sensor along with Leica’s colour science technology. The upcoming smartphone may also feature a 32-inch front shooter for selfies and video calls.
The Pro variant in the lineup is also expected to be backed by a 4,800mAh battery that supports 120W fast charging and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
