Xiaomi 13 Ultra launch date leaked, may not launch at MWC 2023 – Times of India

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi introduced the latest Xiaomi 13 smartphone series for its domestic market in December 2022. The company is expected to launch the new smartphone lineup for the global market at the Mobile World Congress event which will be held in Barcelona on February 2023. Currently, the Xiaomi 13 series which is available in China includes two devices — the vanilla Xiaomi 13 and the Xiaomi 13 Pro. Recent rumours claim that the company may add a third variant — the Xiaomi 13 Ultra to the lineup soon.
Earlier, Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun also confirmed that the company will launch the Xiaomi 13 Ultra as its main flagship device for both the Chinese and the global market. This statement started multiple rumours that claimed that the company may launch the Xiaomi 13 Ultra variant at the upcoming MWC event. However, now a recent report claims that Xiaomi may debut the 13 Ultra smartphone at a later date.
Xiaomi 13 Ultra: Expected launch date
According to a report by Notebookcheck.net, a tipster named Digital Chat Station claims that both Oppo Find X6 and Honor Magic5 series will be launched soon after the Chinese New Year which is on January 22. The report mentions that these two smartphones may debut in the middle to end of February. As per the report, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will be launched at a later date (expected to launch by end of March or early April) for the company’s domestic market of China.
This means that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is unlikely to be unveiled at MWC. However, the global release of the premium Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro smartphones will be done at the event. There is no information about when the Ultra variant of the lineup will be rolled out for the global market.

Xiaomi 13 Ultra: Expected specs
Xiaomi 13 Ultra is likely to come powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset which will be backed by up 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 500GB/1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The Ultra variant in the Xiaomi 13 smartphone lineup is likely to house a quad-rear camera setup which will include a 1-inch Sony IMX989 50MP main camera.
All four camera units are expected to be equipped with PDAF autofocus. Meanwhile, the main camera unit may also support gimbal optimisation. No more details about the upcoming Xiaomi smartphone is not available yet.
