NEW DELHI: Xiaomi announced the MIUI 13, the latest layer of its operating system last year in December in China. The company has now launched the MIUI 13 in India via an online event.

The Chinese smartphone maker claims that its latest layer of OS comes with improved security and privacy features. MIUI 13 also comes with features like faster storage, faster processing, faster background, longer battery life and more. Xiaomi has also optimised file storage with MIUI 13.

Another feature coming with MIUI 13 is the “electronic fraud protection” that will save the numbers from the user’s phonebook and the user of the phone will be notified before accepting the call. But, this feature will also have a record of devices and websites that might bring in malware.

Xiaomi has also introduced a new font for the MIUI 13. It is free for users to download and is supposed to be a sans-serif font that looks to be more symmetrical for both spacing and character appearance. The company claims that this font is expected to simplify letters, numbers and signs.

All phones with MIUI 13 will receive new wallpaper options along with new widgets that Xiaomi says are redesigned to align better in a grid.
