Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 appears on FCC with 22.5W charging, MIUI 12.5, and more | 91mobiles.com

It’s no secret that Xiaomi is working on a new tablet, purportedly called Mi Pad 5, for the global market as the device has appeared on a few certification sites already. Now, the upcoming tablet has appeared on the US FCC website with model number 21051182G. This model number, of course, seems familiar since we have seen the same on the EEC website and has long been associated with the Mi Pad 5. The FCC listing reveals some Mi Pad 5 specifications that we weren’t familiar with earlier, giving us an idea of what to expect from the upcoming tablet. Let’s dive in.

Mi Pad 5 specifications revealed via FCC

The Mi Pad 5 specifications listed on the FCC website include 22.5W fast-charging support, dual-band Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth support. Moreover, it reveals that the device will run the MIUI 12.5 custom skin.

Previous leaks and certification listings have revealed other key features of the tablet, such as an LCD panel, 120Hz refresh rate, 10.95-inch display, and side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Other rumoured specifications include stylus support, 4,260mAh battery, and 20MP + 13MP cameras. The Mi Pad 5 series is rumoured to include as many as three models, codenamed nabu, enuma, and elish. While we don’t know their marketing names for certain, it is speculated that the standard Mi Pad 5 model will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC and its Pro counterpart will run on the Snapdragon 870 chipset.

In terms of design, Mi Pad 5 seems to look a lot like the iPad Pro 2020 with its angular frame. This is corroborated by an allegedly leaked image of the tablet’s chassis.

Considering this will be the first Xiaomi tablet to launch since the Mi Pad 4 in 2018, there is certainly a lot of interest around the device. We can expect the tablet to launch sometime in the next couple of months, so hang tight as we bring more information about Mi Pad 5 to you soon.
