Xiaomi officially teases Redmi K60 series: Design and launch date confirmed – Times of India

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is set to expand its smartphone portfolio with the introduction of the Redmi K60 series. The Redmi K60 lineup is likely to include three new devices — the Redmi K60e, K60, and K60 Pro devices. Earlier, the company shared a post on Weibo mentioning that this new series will be arriving as a “2023 New Year’s gift.” This post suggested that the smartphone lineup will debut for the company’s domestic market in China before the end of 2022. The Redmi K60 series will release on December 27 at 7 pm (local time) in China.
Now, Redmi has shared a new poster on Weibo (spotted by GizmoChina) that not only confirms the launch date of the upcoming phone series but also offers a first look at the design of the handsets. However, the post didn’t confirm which particular handset was shown in the teaser. All three devices in the lineup are expected to bear similar design profiles.
Redmi K60 series: Confirmed design
Redmi’s new poster reveals that Redmi K60 series devices will have a rectangle-shaped camera module that will include three cameras and a pill-shaped LED flash unit. The outer panel on the top of the device is expected to house a microphone, an IR blaster, and a speaker grille. Moreover, the upcoming smartphones are also likely to have a textured rear panel design.

Redmi K60 series: Confirmed specs
The company has already confirmed that the Pro variant of the Redmi K60 lineup will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. Redmi also recently confirmed that the Redmi K60e model will feature MediaTek’s Dimensity 8200 mobile platform under the hood.
Redmi K60 series: Rumoured specs
Latest rumours suggest that the vanilla Redmi K60 is likely to arrive with this year’s Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 SoC onboard. The Redmi K60 which will come out for the Chinese market is likely to be rebranded as the Poco F5 5G for the global market. Recently, all three handsets in the lineup were certified by the 3C authority of China. The 3C certifications claim that the Redmi K60e handset will support 120W fast charging, while the other two devices will come equipped with 67W fast charging.
