Xiaomi launched three new tablets — Xiaomi Pad 5, Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro and Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4 — under the Xiaomi Pad 5 series in China last year. Later on, the Chinese smartphone maker introduced only the vanilla Xiaomi Pad 5 model in other markets including India in April 2022. The company is now reportedly developing a tablet range that will succeed the Xiaomi Pad 5 lineup. Now, a few rumoured highlights about the upcoming Xiaomi Pad 6 series have reportedly surfaced on the internet revealing some of the key specs of the tablet. According to a report by Xiaomiui, MIUI codes have recently exposed the codenames of two tablets. The company is reportedly developing Xiaomi Pad 6 under the codename Pipa and Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro with the codename liuqin.
Xiaomi Pad 6: Expected availability
As per the report, Xiaomi Pad 6 series tablets are expected to launch in the first half of 2023. The report also adds that the upcoming tablet lineup might be exclusive to the Chinese market
Xiaomi Pad 6 (Pipa): Specifications (rumoured)
The vanilla version of the Xiaomi Pad 6 is rumoured to sport a 120Hz refresh rate display. It is also rumoured to be powered by the Snapdragon 870 processor. This chipset also powers its China-exclusive Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro. Other tablets including Oppo Pad, Vivo Pad, and Lenovo Legion Tab Y700 also feature the same chipset.
This chipset will be an improvement from the processor used in the standard model of Xiaomi Pad 5. The report also adds that the Xiaomi Pad 6 will be released in China, India and other international regions. This device is likely to come with the model number M82.
Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro (Liuqin): Specifications (rumoured)
Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro may feature a 120Hz AMOLED display with 1880 × 2880 pixel resolution. The Pro variant of the tablet series is likely to come powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC.
