Xiaomi said to be working on a flip phone with dual selfie camera

NEW DELHI: Xiaomi launched its first foldable smartphone — Mi Mix Fold earlier this year. The smartphone maker is now planning to add another foldable smartphone to its product lineup. Xiaomi is said to be working on a clamshell-like foldable smartphone. Xiaomi has patented a device at CNIPA (Chinese National Intellectual Property Association) with a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip-like design.

The upcoming foldable smartphone from Xiaomi is said to come with two cameras and a small horizontal display placed on the cover. The new flip phone from Xiaomi is expected to sport a pill-shaped punch hole on the inside for the dual-facing cameras. The bottom of the flip phone is said to house a SIM card slot, a USB Type C port and a speaker grill. The power button and volume rockers are said to be placed on the right side.

Xiaomi will be the fourth smartphone maker who will be making a flip phone. Smartphone makers like Samsung, Motorola and Huawei already have foldable phones with clamshell design.
