xiaomi tablet: Xiaomi set to launch its first tablet in India – Times of India

Xiaomi is all set to launch its first tablet in India. The company took to Twitter to tease the device. Going by the image shared with the tweet, the tablet could have ‘Tab’ in its brand nomenclature, meaning it could be called the Xiaomi Tab. The Chinese company already has the Pad 5 and the Pad 5 Pro tablets in its native market but for the India market, it will face stiff competition from already established brands like Samsung and Lenovo. Xiaomi’s rival Realme is also there in the Android tablet market with its Realme Pad, which it launched last year.

The Xiaomi Tab could feature an 11-inch WQXGA LCD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. It could come with 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. The company could also provide the Pad with Snapdragon 860 chipset, 6GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. But as of now, it is a matter of speculation, based on the specs of the Xiaomi tablets in the Chinese market. The company could also tone down the specs to make the tablet more affordable for the Indian consumer, considering the competition from Lenovo and Realme in the sub-Rs 15,000 price.
As for the Android tablet market in India which is being dominated by Samsung and Lenovo, Realme had joined the competition one year back with its first Android tablet called the Realme Pad. The company priced the tablet under Rs 15,000 and its Wi-Fi model (3GB+32GB) is currently priced at Rs 13,899. Realme is also rumoured to be working on its second, more affordable Android tablet.
