Xiaomi Watch S2 launched in China: Price, features and more – Times of India

Chinese phone maker Xiaomi has unveiled several new products at an event that the company recently hosted in its home country. Along with the next generational flagship smartphone series — the Xiaomi 13 series — the company has introduced a new smartwatch, earbuds, mini PCs and the latest Android 13-based custom ROM. The Xiaomi Watch S2 will succeed last year’s Watch S1 and it’s expected to compete against the likes of — Samsung Galaxy Watch 5, Apple Watch series and more.
Xiaomi Watch S2: Price and availability
The newly launched smartwatch is now available for purchase in China. Xiaomi is offering two size variants — 42mm and 46mm — and two colour options — Black standard and Light Gold leather — for the Watch S2.
The company is offering the 42mm, black standard model, at CNY 999 (nearly Rs 12,000) and the Light Gold leather version for CNY 1,199 (nearly Rs 14,200). Meanwhile, the 46mm Black standard and Light Gold leather variants are available at CNY 1099 (almost Rs 13,000) and CNY 1299 (Rs 15,400) respectively.
Xiaomi Watch S2: Key specs, design and features
As mentioned above, Xiaomi is offering its latest smartwatch in two different sizes of circular dials which are covered with sapphire glass. The watch has two oblong-shaped physical buttons on the right side and features a stainless steel metal middle frame. The 42mm variant sports a 1.32-inch screen AMOLED screen while the 46mm one has a 1.43-inch panel. Both watches offer a display resolution of 466 x 466 pixels and the Watch S2 s water-resistant up to 5 meters.
Xiaomi Watch S2 is also equipped with a built-in microphone and speaker for Bluetooth calling. The watch also comes with a safety tracking feature that will help the user to notify their pre-set contacts in certain situations.

The Watch S2 offers several apps and features Bluetooth 5.2, GPS and NFC for connectivity. The 42mm variant packs a 305mAh battery and claims to offer up to 7 days of usage. On the other hand, the 46mm model packs a 500mAh battery that promises battery backup for up to 12 days.
The new smartwatch is also packed with multiple health-related features including heart rate and SpO2 monitoring. Xiaomi Watch S2 offers body composition measurement and can calculate data like — fat percentage, protein volume, skeletal muscle mass and more. This wearable can also measure skin temperature and offers an easy way for users to access these features.
Apart from this, the Watch S2 also features a sleep and stress monitor, a women’s menstrual cycle tracker and breathing exercises. This smartwatch also supports over 100 sports modes.
