You can now play games in your car’s infotainment screen using Android Auto – Times of India

Google has announced a new update for Android Auto that brings in new features to the car’s infotainment screen. The update will allow you to play games right from the infotainment displays while you are parked. The games will be provided by a HTML5 platform, GameSnacks, developed by Google’s Area 120. Few of these games were previously available to people who enrolled in the Android Auto beta program. As these are HTML5 based, you will need to have an active internet connection to play these games.
Apart from this, if you have a dual-SIM Android smartphone then you can now choose which SIM card to use when making calls through Android Auto. The update will also add support to Android’s work profile feature that lets you see upcoming work meetings and messages on your car’s display.
Google Assistant driving mode gets a new dashboard
Google is also updating the driving mode on its AI based virtual assistant in Android smartphones. The update will let you access the new driving mode dashboard when you connect your phone to the car’s bluetooth or when you say “Hey Google, let’s drive”. According to the company, the new driving mode will show you basic glanceable, tappable cards that are available with a single tap. The mode will allow you to hear new messages when you say “Hey Google, turn on auto read”. You can also respond to any message using your voice.
The company will roll out the driving mode dashboard in the next few weeks for Android phones in English (US, Australia, Canada, Ireland, India, Singapore and UK), German, Spanish (Spain, Mexico), French and Italian.
In the US, the tech giant is also launching payment options on Android Auto. With the new feature, users will be able to pay for fuel via the infotainment screen using Google Pay. At first, this will be available at over 32,500 gas stations.
