You can store your TWS earbuds inside Nokia’s latest feature phone

HMD Global is no stranger to feature phones, offering devices with retro designs as well as ultra-cheap options like the Nokia 105. Now, the company has announced three new feature phones and a low-end tablet, but it’s the Nokia 5710 XpressAudio that has our attention.

The new phone looks like your typical candy bar feature phone from the front, but the rear of the device has an interesting trick. The back of the phone has a separate rear panel at the top, and sliding it down reveals a place to keep the included true wireless earbuds. Best of all, the compartment can charge your earbuds too.

Don’t expect a huge battery though, coming in at 1,450mAh. But feature phones don’t use a ton of juice and earbuds have small batteries anyway, so we aren’t expecting one round of earbud charging to seriously impact the phone’s battery life.

Otherwise, HMD says this is a removable battery and that you can expect up to six hours of talk time and up to 20 days of dual-SIM 4G standby. The included earbuds offer up to four hours of music playback on one charge.

Other notable specs include a 2.4-inch QVGA screen, 3.5mm port, Bluetooth 5.0, 128MB of expandable storage, dedicated audio control buttons, FM radio support, a micro-USB port, and a VGA-quality camera. Don’t expect modern streaming music support here given the ancient Symbian S30 OS, but microSD support (up to 32GB) means there’s a decent amount of space for local music files.

HMD noted in an emailed press release that the Nokia 5710 XpressAudio will be available for £74.99 (~$89) in the UK. There’s no word on wider availability just yet.
