Taking on Swiggy and Zomato in their territory is not for the fainthearted. But when Amazon kicked off its food delivery ambitions in India with a pilot in Bengaluru two years ago, industry watchers believed that there could be no better contender.For restaurants, Amazon Food’s entry into the food-delivery business in the summer of 2020 was a welcome move as it aimed to break the Swiggy-Zomato duopoly.
