Acer to launch smart TVs in India in September, confirms company – Times of India
Taiwanese tech giant Acer has announced that it is set to make an entry in the smart TV segment in India. This, the company will do under a license to Bengaluru-based Indkal Technologies, said the company. Acer also said that its smart televisions will be launched at retail through Amazon and Flipkart across a range of sizes varying from smaller 32-inches to larger sizes of up to 70-inches and in a combination of resolutions.
The launch of Acer-branded televisions is set to take place sometime in September.
Speaking on this announcement, Anand Dubey, CEO, Indkal Technologies said, “The need for home entertainment has increased in the past twelve months, thus boosting the demand for televisions. This marks a great time to enter the market with Acer, which is one of the most trusted and reliable brands across markets. As the current surge in sales is expected to grow till Diwali, we will find immense opportunities to showcase the value addition that Acer Televisions will bring to the market and towards improving the overall TV viewing experience.”
In related news, earlier this month, Acer launched its Predator Helios 300 laptop in India which comes equipped with 11th-generation Intel Core H-series processors with up to 4.6 GHz, 8 cores and 16 threads and up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 GPU. Other key highlights of the latest Helios 300 laptop include an FHD IPS 360Hz / QHD IPS 165Hz display, Thunderbolt 4 port and a PCIe Gen 4 SSD of total 1TB capacity.
The Predator Helios 300 is available on Acer Online Store, Flipkart, Acer Exclusive Stores and other authorised retail stores starting from Rs 1,29,999.
The Helios 300 features a Full-HD IPS display with a 360Hz refresh rate or Quad HD IPS panel with a 165Hz display refresh rate. The display option also comes with a 100% sRGB colour gamut.
