Apple could release new MacBook Pro models next month: Report | Digit

Moving away from flashy launch events, Apple decided to drop the new entry-level iPad and the M2 iPad Pro through a press release earlier this week. Although the iPad (10th generation), which does not seem to be affordable anymore, received mixed reactions, it was the new iPad Pro that the enthusiasts were interested in, primarily because of the new Apple silicon. Even though the iPad Pro is the first iPad to feature the M2 chip, Apple is expected to use the chip and its variants in other devices, including a new MacBook Pro that could come out as soon as next month.

New MacBook Pro models could come out next month

According to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, Apple is planning to release two new MacBook Pros this year, including a 14-inch and 16-inch model. The report adds that the new MacBook models may feature up to two variants of the new M2 chip – M2 Pro and M2 Max. For those who are catching up, the latest MacBook Pro models come with M1 Pro and M1 Max chipsets as well.

Hence, it would only make sense for Apple to follow the same terminology as M2. In addition, Apple might release a Mac Mini featuring the M2 chipset and options for higher-performance trims. If everything goes right, Apple will reveal these devices in November 2022, i.e., next month.

Apple prefers November to release its notebooks

Last year, Apple released the MacBook Pro models in October; however, it kept the month for revealing the new iPads this year. However, if we stroll down the years, Apple has preferred November over October to reveal its new MacBook models. In 2020, the company unveiled the MacBook Pro, Macbook Air and Mac Mini featuring its M1 chip. A year before that, the company revealed a MacBook Pro in November as well. It is important to mention that a couple of M2-powered Macs are already available in the market. These models came out in June 2022, including the MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro.
